Truly, Madly,  Deeply by Alexandria Bellefleur ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

I’m in love!! I could not be more obsessed with the main characters if I tried! This had exactly what I needed! Great banter, absolutely hilarious, and sooooooo sexy!

Late Bloomer by Mazey Eddings

A sapphic opposites-attract romance!

Opal wins the lottery and is immediately asked for money from numerous people. As she gives her money away, she decides to protect herself by buying a flower farm. However, when she meets the gorgeous Pepper, things take a turn.

There is a lot of adult content in this one. It was almost too much because it didn’t leave a lot of room for emotional connections. I definitely enjoyed this and would say to give it a go!

The Boyfriend Subscription ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

Another book I was able to read in one sitting! This is a short, quick read that’s an lgbtq retelling of Pretty Woman. While not being believable enough at times, this had me turning the pages and thoroughly enjoying it.

Teddy, a debt ridden plant-lover, meets Cole, a well-off guy who doesn’t believe in love. This has fake dating, and opposites attract tropes with a whole lot of extra drama on the side. But, did I mention a little spice? Yes, please!

While not my favorite, I still think this is worth a read!

Daughter of the Bone Forest by Jasmine Skye

This epic lgbtqia fantasy is absolutely everything I wanted! The descriptions, the politics, the characters, and the representation are incredible.

Rosy is a shifter who winds up going to a very prestigious school.  For Rosy, this is a different experience than what she is used to, tending horses with her grandmother.   With this huge change, Rosy finds herself even getting attention from the princess.   This story takes some interesting twists and turns that leave me anticipating the next book bc yes (!!!!) This is a series!!!

I’m so excited about this one and recommend it.

An Education in Malice by S. T. Gibson ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

This is such a cool read! I have never read a book by this author before, and I’m so happy that I got this chance to experience Gibson’s writing.

So the story is amazing, and the writing is perfection. Laura, a “good girl” type who may harbor some carnal desires, starts college and immediately falls for senior Carmilla. Carmilla is in the same poetry seminar Laura is in. And, when she sees her beloved teacher pay attention to Laura (a new girl and a freshman at that!), immediate jealousy sparks, and this turns into just the best enemies-to-lovers read.

By the way, this book takes place in the 60s, and the author really made me feel that vibe through their writing and descriptions. I’m talking about word choice, things I imagine people would say at that time period.

The atmosphere was haunting and a perfect setup for this sapphic romance to bloom in the shadows and for Laura to learn the secret between Carmilla and their teacher.

I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend it!

The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

This book! I mean, the witchy vibes mixed in with the very real idea of how witchcraft and its bloody history have deep roots in the fear of powerful and intelligent women. This whole vibe mixed with a modern-day setting, three great characters that personally I just loved, and the fight against witch hunters and all that stands for made for the best read. (Once, again, that’s my opinion, I have no idea of the author’s intentions.)

This just resonated with me, and I also think this specific time period for me created the ideal reception of this story. Which, btw, can there please be a sequel?

The three main characters have some things in common, and some other things about them that make each girl very unique, for better or worse. Jude is the daughter of a well-known multimillionaire but has been shunned from her family after a bad curse. Her family, however, believes her absence is due to drug use, and it sometimes seems that could be the case with Judes’ irredeemably charismatic and yet incredibly aggravating attitude. Zara used to be the best student in her high school, but now is failing her classes while being caught shoplifting books on the supernatural in her search on how to resurrect her murdered sister, Savannah Emer is possibly my favorite character, but it’s really impossible for me to choose, She is living day by day pretending to be a student at Oxford. She furiously exercises, toning her body into a machine, while also endlessly increasing her knowledge at the library. I’m not going into much detail here because I love going into books blind and being surprised by every reveal, no matter how early. But, suffice to say, there is more to Emer than this seemingly simple existence.

Wow, I haven’t carried on about just characters like this in a review for a while now. Like I said, I really went in with an open mind like I try to do with many things, and I think being open to learning more about these characters and drifting with the magnetic storytelling really helped me enjoy this from beginning to end.

Highly recommend!

Evergreen by Devin Greenlee ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

I feel about half like and half dislike for this one. And some of that has to do with the marketing for this book being a reimagined Secret Garden. I simply could not really relate this story to the classic in any way besides the fact that, indeed, there is a secret garden in this tale.

Quil is a male dryad. He is one of a kind due to the fact that all other dryads have been female. His mom keeps him undercover and away from the outside world and it’s humans by keeping him inside their apartment and often working in the beautiful magical garden. When he meets his neighbor, Liam, Quil begins to learn more about himself and the world he lives in.

My main issue in this was how I never felt like each separate variable really added up. It’s definitely an odd read, and I do think many would enjoy this, but it just wasn’t for me. It felt a little on the younger side of ya and used language that gets on my nerves. And, trust me, I use bad languageโ€ฆ. for some reason, it just got on my nerves in this book. Maybe the less mature side to the writing and the story coupled with plenty of f-bombs just annoyed me.

However, I do really feel like many would enjoy this. These are just my personal thoughts.

A River of Golden Bones by A.K. Mulford ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

I just want to hug this book!!! I loved it so much for the comforting characters and the author’s smooth storytelling. I am a huge fan of A.K. Mulford and this did not disappoint.

Calla is twin to the missing golden wolf princess, which, of course, makes Calla a missing princess too. They are the last of the golden wolves, wolf shifters, whose family were the monarchs of a kingdom. When Briar and Calla were born, an evil sorceress murdered their parents along with all the other golden wolves and took over their kingdom. Calla and Briar have been raised by a faerie who kept them safe until it was time for Briar to wed the prince of the silver wolves which also marked the time for both sisters to come out of hiding in secrecy. However, as per usual in any good book, things do not go as expectedโ€ฆ at all.

Calla went through a journey in this story in more ways than one. There are so many meaningful and insightful quotes throughout this book that I definitely recommend a good highlighter or tabs for! Most meaningful to me is the author’s incredibly kind and understanding way of expressing Calla’s gender and the very real fears that go along with self-discovery. This not only made me feel seen but just so comforted by these characters (particularly Ora).

I definitely recommend this one!!

Gwen And Art are Not in Love by Lex Croucher ๐ŸŒŸArc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

This was such a delight! Gwen is a princess at Camelot, years after Arthur Pendragon has turned to myth. Arthur is her betrothed. However, neither is looking forward to their future together because both are queer.

Gwen has spent years falling for the one and only female knight that takes part in the tournament every summer while Art is falling for Gwen’s brother. This story is not only romantic but is full of meaningful moments. The dialogues, the banter, is so funny and enjoyable.

The ending completely surprised me. I thought this would never get too serious, but the ending is intense!

One Night in Hartswood by Emma Denny ๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ

This is a really sweet historical romance between Penn and Raff. Both are hiding big secrets about who they are but also sharing some very sensitive topics. I want to make a content warning about abuse really just talking about some severe abuse in this book.

I enjoyed this, but I did have a little trouble believing this fast connection between them. However, it’s so sweet, so I did like it.
