The Family Game by Catherine Steadman 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

This thriller had everything I wanted; family secrets, a dangerous game and major twists!

Harry, or Harriet, has moved to NYC from London with her boyfriend. The holidays are just starting, and he proposes in the middle of the skating rink at Rockefeller Center. Harry thinks she’s in for a wild ride already this holiday season with the prospect of meeting the Holbeck family, but she has no idea.

When Harry meets the whole family at Thanksgiving she learns that she will have to prove herself if she wants to keep her secrets. And, this “old money” family’s idea of that comes in the way of games that some may say are a bit cruel.

This thriller had me the whole way through and I definitely recommend it! Also, it’s a great holiday thriller!

Lavender House by Lev AC Rosen 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Found family, lgbtqia+ in the 1950’s and a murder mystery! There is not much more that my soul could ask for.

A very popular soap maker dies and her wife wants someone to solve the case, but kinda secretly bc of her and her household’s lgbtq status at that time. In other words, just trying not to draw attention. That’s where the main character comes in. A disgraced cop who was just fired for being found in a compromised position during a police raid at a gay club.

He meets the lgbtqia family of Lavender house and gets a feel for what a real found family is. That he shouldn’t have to hide a part of himself to be accepted and loved. This story touches on homophobia during the 1950’s and can be quite triggering but I think it was done in a good way. I also really enjoyed the murder mystery, especially because it kept me on my toes till the end.

After Dark with Roxie Clark by Brooke Lauren Davis 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

This was such a fun ya murder/mystery. It revolves around family sticking together, appreciating the past and a few ghost stories as well.

Roxie gives ghost tours about her ancestors that had some sudden and surprising deaths over the past 150 years or so. Her sister has been in mourning for her once boyfriend for over a year but things are about to change. Roxie’s sister, Skylar, has a plan to find her boyfriends murderer herself, and of course, Roxie is there to help.

This book is exciting and fast-paced with some interesting twists and turns! A good read for spooky season!

The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

What a perfectly cozy Holiday thriller!

This follows Lilly, a quiet but kind designer that winds up getting wrapped up in family drama when her Aunt dies and her last letter requests Lilly to join a 12 days of Christmas game to win the family mansion.

Lilly’s mother committed suicide in the maze behind this huge house when Lilly was very young. However, as the game begins and Lilly unravels anagrams in the clues, she realizes there is a lot more to learn about her mother and family… especially, when the other cousins begin to be murdered one by one.

This really gave me great fall and winter/holiday vibes. The perfect read to snuggle up with a blanket and some hot cocoa!

Stay Awake by Megan Goldin 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Wow! An amazing thriller! Fast-paced and full of so many twists. Simply put, this was so much fun to read.

Liv has a memory issue unlike any I’ve ever heard of before. Every time she fails asleep she forgets everything that has happened in the past 2 years. So when she wakes up, she is confused and believes it’s always the same day from 2 years ago. However, she becomes a suspect in a murder and the story follows her along with the detectives trying to solve the case. And, this stays exciting the whole way through!

I am delighted I got a chance to read this early and am also happy to say that I definitely recommend this to fans of thrillers!

The Couple at Number 9 by Claire Douglas 🌟Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

I love a good thriller and this was no exception. The story is great, love multiple Pov’s, however this was a little too slow moving for me. I feel like there was too much information and that I would have enjoyed this more if it had a quicker pace.

I loved the characters, Theo, Saffy, Lorna and Rose. I also thought the twist at the end was great, really intense!

The New Neighbor by Karen Cleveland 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

I read this so fast. Once I started and got into the story I just couldn’t put it down!

Beth and her husband take their youngest child to move in to his college dorm room. It’s an exciting day and a sad one for Beth. Beth’s perfect home, where her and her husband raised their three children, is about to be sold. However, there are a few other things that Beth soon learns. Her husband is ready to leave her and her career at the CIA is over. Well, not exactly over, but she has been demoted and taken off the case she has been working on for years.

However, Beth is an unstoppable force in this book. I couldn’t help but question everything and everyone in this story. It is so suspenseful and I never could have guessed at the ending. I could totally see a sequel to this and I’d be first in line! Just saying!!

I highly recommend this to thriller fans or anyone looking for a suspenseful, fast-paced read!

Things We Do in the Dark by Jennifer Hillier. 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

Wow! Right from the start I was hooked. It started with a shock and the twists just kept coming. I can honestly say that I did not know the reality of everything until the very end. And, I couldn’t even have guessed right if I tried.

Paris is a yoga instructor married to an older, rich and famous man. But when she comes home early from a conference, she finds him dead. And, of course, she is suspect number one. Nothing is exactly as it seems and I was shocked by the ending.

Definitely recommend this for an intense thriller!

One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

I’m just going to say it: This is a must-read for thriller lovers!!! It was more than just a thriller while keeping me on the edge of my seat and guessing at every new chapter.

Six friends go on a hen weekend to celebrate a bride to be in a beautiful villa on the gorgeous seaside cliffs of Greece. However, they have no idea what is in store for them. What each singular person brings as her past, her present, her future, that can bring about all kinds of drama when they learn of each other’s secrets.

I loved the emotion in this book. I was so suspicious of every character. Sometimes hating them but then there would be a twist and I could somehow relate. And, then, that ending!! It’s brilliant. And, I want to add that the last line in the book was the absolute perfect ending.

Highly recommend!

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Wow! Riley Sager is my favorite thriller author, so I always have high expectations when reading one of this author’s books. But this story went so above and beyond my expectations that I simply can’t believe it!

Casey is a star of the screen and stage, but unfortunately her career has taken a dive which is why she finds herself secluded in her family lake house on Lake Greene. While boozing away her time there, Casey has a curious encounter with a neighbor and this is when things start getting really interesting!

I thought to myself so many times that I knew how this would end but from major twist to major twist I realized I needed just to sit back and enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this!
