Things We Do in the Dark by Jennifer Hillier. 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

Wow! Right from the start I was hooked. It started with a shock and the twists just kept coming. I can honestly say that I did not know the reality of everything until the very end. And, I couldn’t even have guessed right if I tried.

Paris is a yoga instructor married to an older, rich and famous man. But when she comes home early from a conference, she finds him dead. And, of course, she is suspect number one. Nothing is exactly as it seems and I was shocked by the ending.

Definitely recommend this for an intense thriller!

TW: child abuse including sexual assault. Suicide.

One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

I’m just going to say it: This is a must-read for thriller lovers!!! It was more than just a thriller while keeping me on the edge of my seat and guessing at every new chapter.

Six friends go on a hen weekend to celebrate a bride to be in a beautiful villa on the gorgeous seaside cliffs of Greece. However, they have no idea what is in store for them. What each singular person brings as her past, her present, her future, that can bring about all kinds of drama when they learn of each other’s secrets.

I loved the emotion in this book. I was so suspicious of every character. Sometimes hating them but then there would be a twist and I could somehow relate. And, then, that ending!! It’s brilliant. And, I want to add that the last line in the book was the absolute perfect ending.

Highly recommend!

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Wow! Riley Sager is my favorite thriller author, so I always have high expectations when reading one of this author’s books. But this story went so above and beyond my expectations that I simply can’t believe it!

Casey is a star of the screen and stage, but unfortunately her career has taken a dive which is why she finds herself secluded in her family lake house on Lake Greene. While boozing away her time there, Casey has a curious encounter with a neighbor and this is when things start getting really interesting!

I thought to myself so many times that I knew how this would end but from major twist to major twist I realized I needed just to sit back and enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this!

Out June 21st!

The Favor by Nora Murphy 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!!

Wow! This was so intense! Exactly what I want out of a revenge-like thriller which is what this basically is.

Two women, absolutely controlled by their husband’s, are able to somewhat help each other in the most fierce way possible. Their husband’s look great to the outside world, like so many abusers do. And, when I speak of abusers, it’s with the knowledge that anybody, any gender, any person, can be an abuser. And, abuse can come in many forms. In this case, it is control. These women live such similar lives and really do not know each other. However, that does not stop them from seeing each other’s common reality and taking steps to stop it from happening.

I definitely recommend this one!

Out May 31st!

TW for abusive situations, death and alcohol abuse.

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 The Lying Club by Annie Ward!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

This mystery/thriller was incredible! I loved the whole set up. Natalie works at the front desk of a high school that is known for it’s sports department and the entitled teens that go there. Natalie has an interesting past so when things become derailed at the school with a certain staff member, she becomes a suspect in a crime.

Going between Natalie’s police interview and the start of everything to the explosive ending was the perfect way to tell this story. It’s fast-paced and intense. I definitely recommend This!

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 The Ravenous Dead by Darcy Coates!

Thank you Netgalley for this wonderful arc!

This book and this series has such a great vibe to it. I feel so at home reading this horror, murder/mystery style book. It’s the perfect series to curl up with at night and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea or whatever! Your beverage of choice, ya’ll.

The small town fills with gossip as Keira becomes more well known, for better or worse (but mostly better). She is living in a cabin by the graveyard and trying to use her abilities to help the ghosts pass on. Things quickly escalate when not only does she find an evil ghostly presence near the graveyard, but also when her past comes back to haunt her threatening to take away her new life.

I love the friendship between Keira, Zoe and Mason. Zoe cracks me up with her conspiracy theories and Mason is endearing with his calm and caring attitude. This book gave me everything I need; thrills, chills and laughs and love. I definitely recommend this series!

🌟Arc Review 🌟 The Match by Harlan Coben!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

Harlan Coben is a masterful storyteller and this was another terrific read. The Match carries on the tale of Wilde. Wilde is a man with a mysterious past but in this sequel the threads of his history have begun to be pulled apart. I loved the revelations about this character and the connections he seems to be embracing more in this book.

Of course, this was also a complete thrill-ride full of suspence and action! I loved the fast pace of the book and I consumed it in one sitting. I definitely recommend this series and this author!

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 I am Margaret Moore by Hannah Capin!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

Wow! I am speechless. I read this in one sitting simply because the author drew me in so completely with this hypnotic writing that did more than just tell a story. I Am Margaret Moore is full to brimming with emotion and I can see so many people relating to this tale on multiple levels.

Four girls with an incredible friendship developed at a camp over many summers of attendance are always there for each other. Even when it’s difficult, confusing and life-changing. This story speaks on deep friendships and love, heartbreak and betrayal. I was entranced to the last page and I believe this book will always be on my mind.

I highly recommend this read. I feel like I was there. That Margaret Moore’s emotions were mine and this story is now a part of me, too. There are some trigger warnings for death, loss, grief and unsettling scenes.

🌟 The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake! (Thoughts and Review) 🌟

This book was amazing! The choosing of the players in what ultimately amounts to a game of wits between these six magical people who have been offered a chance to become members in a world changing secret society. Things may seem straightforward, however there are so many secrets kept and so many revealed that I know this will make for an excellent reread.

There are some characters I love. Some I thought I loved until I knew better. Some I thought I completely disliked until I learned more. And, of course, some I just do not care for and never will. It’s these little distinctions that make me so crazy about this book. Not only are the initiates trying to figure each other out, figure the game out, but I’m in the exact same position as a reader. Which is something I adore!

I definitely recommend this! Dark Acedemia with a magical twist!

Trigger warnings for manipulation bw characters, some unsettling scenes and violence.

🌟Arc Review 🌟 The Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

I have not been so captivated by a story in a while. This is definitely going to stick with me.

January was working as a time cop far in the future when our world discovers the means to time travel. After January gets diagnosed as unstuck (think of it as being slightly unstuck from the straight line moving forward in time. She will sometimes drop into her past or possibly even her future.). This kind of makes January seem untrustworthy and less mentally stable to some. Some question her ability to work as head of security for The Paradox Hotel. But, really, January can stand up for herself and she does… even if she is missing out on the support from her friends and coworkers at The Paradox Hotel.

This story just goes right into an intense vibe. Even the first paragraph lets the reader know they are in for something wild and unexpected. Time begins to stutter. All these trips that the rich take to different eras start having an effect on everything and it’s simply a wild ride from start to finish.

If you love mind trippy books about time travel and alternate planes of time then I think you will enjoy this book. I had such a blast reading it. I went through every single emotion while not being able to put this book down for a second. Definitely recommend!

Look for this on February 22nd!!!
