🌟 Arc Review 🌟 The Violence by Delilah S. Dawson!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

Omygosh… this book freaked me out. Centering around a disease called The Violence that basically will create a sudden rage in a person and this rage is taken out on anyone unlucky enough to be around them.

This book does have a theme besides violence. It shows the reader the lengths someone will go to protect themselves and their loved ones. This survival instinct is possibly what is stronger than The Violence itself. And, even when things look dire, there is that spark of hope when someone carries on against all odds.

This was a tough read for me. Lot’s of trigger warnings: Physical and sexual assault and, of course, violence. Although I had a hard time getting through parts of it, I would recommend this to anyone who can handle the emotional impact of this book along with an overt amount of violence.

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 Such a Pretty Smile by Kristi Demeester!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

This book is a very freaky! Women standing up to the patriarchy and feminism, though ❀ I definitely agree about certain men treating women this way. Basically, in a way that says we as women should be quiet and docile. We should be good girls and just swallow the pill whole, literally and figuratively.

The story follows Caroline in 2004 and her daughter, Lila, in 2019. Their stories with this beast who represents the demeaning men of the world are told in tandem. It’s very easy to see similarities and notice the differences in the two and that makes the story even more interesting.

This is a great serial killer thriller tale with a twist and I recommend it especially if you can withstand the blood and gore, animal violence and death and some disturbing imagery both sexual and not.

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 The Maid by Nita Prose!

Thank you Netgalley for this incredible arc!

How to describe this wonderful book? It’s a masterpiece murder/mystery following a maid who may not seem quite all together. Molly has problems recognizing the truth to certain situations and also, people’s meanings. She can unknowingly be in a dangerous situation or not understand when another person is being truthful, positive or negative. This can also put her in situations in which she is taken advantage of.

Mr. Black and his young wife Giselle are VIP’s in this grand hotel Molly works at. But when she finds Mr. Black dead in his bed all the evidence of his death points to Molly and she must find a way to help herself.

I loved every second of this book! Molly is an amazing character to follow and really the whole idea is so unique. I loved the kindness and heartwarming feels too. Also, I am currently on my way to the OG (Olive Garden) for the tour of Italy 😍

🌟Arc Review 🌟 Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins!

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc!

I cannot get over this book. There are books full of twists and turns… and then there is this book which didn’t even give me time to guess what was going to happen because all I could do was simply keep up!

Lux is down on her luck. She’s living in Maui with her gorgeous boyfriend but she’s the one working at hotels and dives trying to pull in the money to keep them afloat. Nico, her boyfriend, is great to look at and has a charming personality making him easy to love but, at the same time, he’s a bit too laid back. Luck seems to show itself when two girls, Britney and Amma, offer Nico 50,000 dollars to sail them to Monroe Island… and, of course, Lux is invited. There are many rumors about this island and none of them are good. Lux has no idea what she is getting herself into and neither does the reader until the last page.

Definitely recommend as a thriller! Reckless Girls is fast-paced and non-stop surprises. I absolutely loved this book!
