A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas, A Brief Review

First I would like to say how much I love this title, of Frost and Starlight. This is a sincerely sweet Maas book, an addition to The Court of Thorns and Roses series, that really acts to give us, the avid reader, a chance to relax and simply enjoy the Winter Solstice with the gang in Velaris.

Like I said, this book does give the reader pure enjoyment in this peace time, but, of course, there is foreshadowing of what may be coming. Not only the animosity still held in certain parts of the Fae Realms, particularly the Illyrians and of course Tamlin, but what is left in the human realms. Even a hint at a new darkness that may come, but I won’t say anymore about that.

If you read and loved ACOTAR series, please read this and enjoy… I personally had some peppermint tea with a snuggly and chubby kitty on my lap, but to each their own.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!!

House of Earth and Blood, Crescent City book one, by Sarah J.  Maas

I have just completed this magnificent first book of the Crescent City series by the, also magnificent, Sarah J. Maas…. and I am almost (almost) speechless. This has to be the best book she has ever written. It’s long, yes, about 800 pages, and I will admit it does start slow. However, stick with it and you will not regret it. Wow, yeah, that’s an understatement… this book just begs to be read and fiercely loved.

I really did go through every emotion possible while reading this. Maas has a way to just bring me to the edge and maybe even farther, more so than any other author. Now, I know I say books make me emotional often, so let me express this very clearly: In House of Earth and Blood, I didn’t just sorta feel everything, I practically felt like I was living through these characters. It’s as if Maas is really creating bigger than life stories, stories and characters that dont just live on pages but seem to live on in my life as if they are real people I know. And, I (mostly) love these characters and deeply appreciate their friendship.

This story is so much more than what it initially appears to be. There were countless times that I thought I had EVERYTHING figured out and I was so wrong everytime. That is one of the major morals to this story, to not judge someone until you know, until you really know everything. The person you may believe is a useless partier or just a thug has a history and, hopefully, deep reasons behind their actions. I find myself doing this so often, judging people. And it’s not right or fair. I do not know their whole story, just like this book… I didn’t know Bryce’s whole story until the very end and all my assumptions about what would happen in the storyline proved false. Because I didn’t know.

You are in for the ride of your life with this book! I suggest it so so highly, I cannot express how highly I recommend this awesome piece of work!

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!!!

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, A Review

Some things I have learned while reading this series: Do not bargain lightly. Always look deeper than first appearances. And, trust your heart.

Feyre is such a dynamic character. She turns into a completely new person by the end of this series. The scared girl who was willing to settle for a life of quiet and safety is no more. She makes her own choices now and she chooses to love her mate unconditionally while still having her own control over her life, her independence.

Wow, this book was a great ending to a great series. I went through every emotion possible by the end of ACOWAR. Maas did not hold back at all. This author can make me feel exactly what the characters are feeling, even if that means I have to pretend my eyes are watering really bad because I’m reading this book around other people. (I swear, y’all, something got in my eye!)

If you haven’t read this series, I say… READ IT NOW!! I am not going into detail about what happened in the books because its better if you find out on your own. All I will say is that it is full to brimming with serious magic and a one of a kind love story that had my heart racing many a time!
