This book begins with an extended version of what exactly happened at the end of Alien Minds. It shows more of what is going through Meimi and Thorne’s minds when the unbelievable happens and it seems they are separated permanently. However, if you know anything about Meimi Archer, you know she will find a solution to this problem and that she will totally kick ass while doing it. This is especially true because she has Zoe and Chloe on her side. Meimi is attending Echo Academy and using all its resources to find a way to break through the Exile Void. Meanwhile, Thorne is trying to figure things out with his father, Cole, who apparently believes Meimi needs to be HIS transcendent so he can keep his throne. If this sounds complicated, just wait till you read further in the book, things get WILD! This is not only incredibly entertaining and fun, but really interesting. Particularly the way Bauer adds in all these little details about the appearances of things, it just makes all the aspects of this story even more unique. Not to mention the craziness of the plots within plots, the hidden schemes and surprises that really just come out of nowhere and make this series spectacular. And, let’s not forget the romance! I loved reading this series. If your looking for some fun and unstoppable spacey romance then these are the books for you!
Meimi wakes up with no memory, and worse, she has to deal with Luci and Josiah without even knowing who they really are. She thinks her name is Wisteria Roberts, Meimi’s old alias. However, she is still okay enough to know that this situation is sketchy and she doesn’t like the Authority and definitely does not want to help Godwin. Meanwhile, Thorne is still protecting Meimi by working for Godwin as her personal guard. He is also secretly meeting his brothers , Justice and Slate, to not only keep them updated but to also receive their help. Meimi and Thorne do have something in common, besides being transcendents, and that is unstable parents. Meimi has a mom that has slowly been becoming more and more mentally unstable but has at least always tried to protect her daughter. Thorne’s dad, however, has a father who goes between being a loving dad and a psycho emperor willing to kill his sons to keep his throne. Another thing Meimi and Thorne have in common? They both handle their situations incredibly well. There is so much going on in this book and it is so much fun to read about. Godwin has his maniacal evil plans, not to mention an awesome cat-snake with bat wings, and… of course, the ROMANCE!!! I recommend this to readers who are ready to have a good time! A fun quick read that will kept me cracking up and also on the edge of my seat!
This is so much fun! The second book in the Dimension Drift series is told from the perspective of Thorne Oxblood. That’s right, Meimi’s sexy transcendent who is known for fighting Inter-Dimensional Disasters.
Thorne is from a different planet, another world, Umbra. Although he is an alien, he fits in with humans quite well, mainly due to his use of sentient that can do anything from change appearances and clothes to break through walls. He has two brothers, Justice and Slate, and his father, Cole, is the emperor.
This was such a great follow up. I had a blast reading and seeing everything from Thornes perspective and I loved how this book wrapped up. I am definitely ready to start the next book, Alien Minds, as quickly as possible!
Meimi Archer is a badass science prodigy for hire who is willing to get her hands dirty to protect her mother. At the young age of 16, Meimi sometimes attends high school but usually spends her days and nights working on projects for the local criminal overlord, Scythe.
Meimi doesn’t really live in the brightest world. She takes care of her mentally unstable mom and protects her from the government’s cleansing program, in other words, death. However, she is her own bright light. Meimi stays optimistic, upbeat and full of her own sense of humor that kept me cracking up.
As Meimi prepares to pick up parts for a deal she has that will keep her and her mom safe, everything suddenly starts going wrong. This is when the action really begins and the reader gets to see just how badass Meimi really is. And, trust me, by the end, you’re not going to be able to wait to pick up the next book.
