๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ In a Garden Burning Gold by Rory Power!

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for this incredible arc!

In a Garden Burning Gold is another amazing book by Rory Power. I loved every second of this. It does start out slow but I enjoyed that because the author used the space to really do some great world building and set the tone for this story.

This is told from the dual Pov’ of twins Rhea and Lexos. They are both trying to keep their father in power but they still have many differences although they have a similar goal and are twins. I loved the political intrigue that took part in this incredible world and the shocking betrayals. I will definitely be picking up book two!

I highly recommend this! Look for this on April 5th!

๐ŸŒŸArc Review ๐ŸŒŸ The City of Dusk by Tara Sim

Thank you Netgalley for this incredible arc!

This was such a riveting and detailed fantasy. I would say it’s a must read for fantasy lovers. I loved the dark and forbidden magic at the center of this tale mixed in with different kinds of characters from different factions who all had their own pov.

I can see how this wouldn’t be everyone’s favorite with the multiple pov’s but I believe this story is breathtaking and worth people’s attention. The politics, intrigue and relationships between families and heirs was one of my favorite parts. I love fantasy that is rich in these issues bc it’s simply fascinating.

I would definitely recommend this!

Out March 22nd!

๐ŸŒŸArc Review ๐ŸŒŸ A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft!

Thank you Wednesday Books and Netgalley for this Arc!

I loved Alison Saft’s debut book Down Comes the Night and I really enjoyed this one as well. One of my favorite things about this author’s is how the intriguing and haunting atmosphere seems to be created so effortlessly. And, the setting is a perfect complement to the characters and the details of this world.

This story involves two strangers from different and yet similar circumstances meeting and finding a type of kinship with one another. This has a slow burn romance but it does get a bit spicy! And, lots of magic mainly based on the idea of Alchemy.

If this piques your interest or if you enjoyed Down Comes the Night, then I would say to definitely give this a go!

Look for this out on March 8th!

๐ŸŒŸ The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake! (Thoughts and Review) ๐ŸŒŸ

This book was amazing! The choosing of the players in what ultimately amounts to a game of wits between these six magical people who have been offered a chance to become members in a world changing secret society. Things may seem straightforward, however there are so many secrets kept and so many revealed that I know this will make for an excellent reread.

There are some characters I love. Some I thought I loved until I knew better. Some I thought I completely disliked until I learned more. And, of course, some I just do not care for and never will. It’s these little distinctions that make me so crazy about this book. Not only are the initiates trying to figure each other out, figure the game out, but I’m in the exact same position as a reader. Which is something I adore!

I definitely recommend this! Dark Acedemia with a magical twist!

Trigger warnings for manipulation bw characters, some unsettling scenes and violence.

๐ŸŒŸ Currently Reading ๐ŸŒŸ

Hi hi hi! I hope you are doing well. However, today is Monday so it’s a pretty meh day. ๐Ÿ˜

So here is a list of my current reads!

Loving this book! A really eerie story focused on a Vicar with a mysterious past and her 15 year old daughter. They recently moved to an incredibly small town where mom, Jack, is taking over as Vicar at the church. However, neither Jack or her daughter Flo, are very welcome.

This barely sums up what is happening but I like it bc it has that creepy vibe of what is teetering over the edge between good and evil. I am about halfway through and I am full of questions!

This is the next Arc I’m reading after I finish Burning Girls. It seems to be an intense psychological thriller (major emphasis on the psychological part). I love books like this about different dimensions, alternate universes. It seems like another great mind trip read and I believe it’s coming out on February 22nd! So I’m rushing to get to it!

This is the second book in the House of Night series by a mother/daughter duo working together as authors (gotta admit, that’s cool). I did not love the first one bc there was excessive slut shaming and just females putting down other females… which, is not how life should be folks!!

I just started this but put it down to focus on 1 thing at a time. But so far I am really enjoying book 2 more than the first. So, yay! I’m excited!

Rereading Percy Jackson because I love this series. That is all.

My cat and I hope you have a great day! Any thoughts or questions or book recommendations for me, please comment!! I’d love to hear from you!

๐ŸŒŸ My Current Reads Update and THOUGHTS ๐ŸŒŸ

Is published Reylo fanfic Real????

YES IT IS!!!

And, it is wondrous!!!

Seriously if you love Reylo fanfic or just Reylo or just Adam Freaking Driver … Just do me a favor and read this and tell me what you think!!!

So, I talked to a few people who did not enjoy the slow burn, did not think it was smutty enough and also, did not love the ongoing miscommunication and misunderstanding.

However, it’s Reylo so I thought it fit and yes, it is GLORIOUS!!! Lol ๐Ÿคฃ

Empire of the Vampire!

This book is outstanding. A great piece of work. I have read the first 400 pages as a sampler Arc but I’m rereading super slow and just taking it all in. I’ll probably be slowly getting through this for another month.

Zodiac Academy: The Awakening

So excited to read this! Just got into the first few chapters yesterday and it’s caught my interest. Looking forward to reading more today!

Steelstriker

I love Marie Lu with all my heart and I do not understand how these beautiful books and amazing story are not more popular! This is the sequel to Skyhunter and it’s great. Basically war and monster like creatures and steel wings … it’s cool.

So basically that’s it! If you have read any of these please message me with spoiler free thoughts!!!

Have a great day! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸŒŸ Arc Review ๐ŸŒŸ Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves by Meg Long!

Thank you Netgalley for this stunning Arc!

Stunning.  That’s the perfect word to describe this book.  I did not know what to expect but this story swept me off my feet.

Sena is a 17 year old young woman trying to make it through life on a planet that cannot find a way to respect anyone with Scavver blood.  Sena lost her mothers 5 years ago when they took part in a famous sled race on this world.  Sena feels alone and, even though she doesn’t know it,  she needs help.

Sena goes through an amazing transition from loner to a team leader throughout this story.  I think the most emotional element was her connection to a fighting wolf that kind of adopted her as a partner.   The author did an amazing job describing the relationship between a human and an animal.  It was very real and reminded me of how attached to my pets I am on a psychological level and going through forming that attachment and the overwhelming love I feel for them.

This was an incredible read that was fast-paced and full of action.   I highly recommend this!!

Look for this in 2022 on January 11th!!

๐ŸŒŸ Holiday Bookstack and current reads! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿฌ๐ŸฌCandy Cane Stack ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ

I am absolutely thrilled to be only one week away from Christmas! I can’t wait to hand out presents, overdose on sugar while watching Elf and of course spend time with family!

I am currently reading a few things that are not exactly Christmas related but I am certainly enjoying:

A snowy thriller!

I am loving this cryptic suspense and mystery in Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney! I have fallen in love with the thriller genre this year and there is no turning back now! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Lexi Ryan is amazing!! I bow down to her as I read this story full of manipulations and lies… not to mention two absolutely gorgeous Faerie Prince’s!!! And, there is going to be a sequel??? I am so not ready for whatever cliffhanger I’m heading towards!!

Stop! Just stop and write on your calendar for 2022… January 4th is the release date for this very unique and indescribable really, thriller following Molly the Maid during a murder investigation at her high end hotel of employment. I hope to finish this soon to tell you more bc it is incredible!

This is everything I’m reading right now! I am wishing all of you the very best and would love to hear your thoughts on any of these books! Please feel free to message me anytime! Cheers!
