Whit Cat, Black Dog by Kelly Link 🌟 Arc Review🌟

Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!!!

Kelly Link is now right up there with my favorite authors. This was a masterpiece in storytelling. A retelling of seven grimdark fairytales that kept me completely spellbound.

I love the cats. I love the connection I felt throughout all these stories. I loved the imagery, the dark and beautiful pictures this author painted. I loved everything! I literally have zero complaints. This was brilliant, and I know I’m going to be thinking back on these tales.

I cannot recommend this enough!

Nocturne by Alyssa Wees 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!!

This is a gorgeous fairytale!! This stole me away from reality and gave me a dark, wandering and enchanting tale to rest in.

Grace has not had an easy life. She is living in Chicago around the 1930’s.
Orphaned by age 13, she finds herself at a local ballet school. Now, at age 20, she is finally offered the position of prima ballerina. However, as is often warned in fairytales, all things come with a price.

Grace finds out she has a very rich and mysterious sponsor. So, naturally, she does everything in her power to find out who he is. When she finally does she is shocked at what she finds. No mere man, but death himself. And, Grace finds herself trapped between reality and illusion.

This was an entrancing read. I loved the dreamlike quality of the author’s writing style. Especially because this only added to the natural surreal quality of the story.

Violet Made of Thorns by Gina Chen 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

This was a whole new style of Fairytale and I loved it!

I have to say that at first I was conflicted. The author writes a note in the beginning describing the reasons for the main character’s traits.. How Violet was written to be a realist. An in-between of good and bad. Not really fitting into a box. So at first, I found it hard to like her character. But after continuing to read, I wound up really appreciating her.

Violet is a Seer for a king, and really the whole kingdom. She saved the Prince’s life at age 7 and now they have a shaky relationship usually based on insults. However, the land is changing and Violet is seeing scary visions of what is to come; Monsters, blood and roses.

Enemies to lovers! An ending that I never could have seen coming! And, fairytale! What more does a reader need?
