The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

This book is incredible and I can’t wait to read more in this trilogy!

This is epic fantasy at its best. A detailed world that bases a person’s worth on the color of their blood. Embers have red blood, Dusters blue and Ghostings translucent. This story is definitely dark but I liked that because it made everything so real for me while I was reading.

The main characters grow throughout the story and I loved the f/f enemies to lovers relationship, not to mention, opposites attract also. This book was thrilling and surged with life. I didn’t realize I would get so hooked but I am happy I did.

I cannot recommend this more!

The Holloway Girls by Susan Crispell!! 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Remy is a Holloway girl. And, this comes with a strange sort of responsibility for a girl at age 16. A Holloway girl’s kiss supposedly brings bad luck during her season. However, when it’s Remy’s turn, she discovers that even something as simple as a lucky kiss can turn bad. She kisses her crush and he falls under a spell of bad luck! But, is this really Remy’s fault?

I mostly enjoyed this story. My favorite piece to this tale is Tobin’s character and how Remy seems to grow stronger and more confident by the end of the book. The magic is really low-key and not discussed in great detail but that didn’t take away from this fun, fast-paced read.

Last Call at the Nightingale by Katharine Schellman!! 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!

I adored this read!! The roaring twenties in New York City! An underground club called The Nightingale that welcomes all patrons equally. Let the drinks flow and the jazz wash away your worries.

This was Vivian’s favorite spot and she would do anything to protect her little piece of heaven even if it meant getting involved in solving a murder that occurred. This murder/mystery is slow-paced but moves smoothly and enjoyably. Especially because it is such a character driven plot.

I really enjoyed this and recommend as a good read!

Witch 13 by Patrick Delaney! 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!!

Wow! This is pure horror with all the gore included! And, it has illustrations… which are seriously freaky! (I thank you for the nightmares but I need an eraser for my brain bc scary).

The plot really centers around a small town sheriff and her deputy on her last night on the job…. and, of course, the witch. There are several issues revolving around the sheriff and why she is leaving that make up part of the story. But, mainly, the focus goes to the witch and her tricks and treats on this Christmas-y night.

I did feel like the chapters jumped around a bit and that the ending was wanting but still a good horror read to check out.

The Favor by Nora Murphy 🌟 ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!!

Wow! This was so intense! Exactly what I want out of a revenge-like thriller which is what this basically is.

Two women, absolutely controlled by their husband’s, are able to somewhat help each other in the most fierce way possible. Their husband’s look great to the outside world, like so many abusers do. And, when I speak of abusers, it’s with the knowledge that anybody, any gender, any person, can be an abuser. And, abuse can come in many forms. In this case, it is control. These women live such similar lives and really do not know each other. However, that does not stop them from seeing each other’s common reality and taking steps to stop it from happening.

I definitely recommend this one!

Hide by Kiersten White 🌟 Arc Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!!!

Well, this was absolutely brilliant. Everything I thought I knew… how the story was going, a guess at the ending… this author would flip the switch. And, can I just give this author a huge thank you for that note at the end that revealed the truth behind this story? Bc, Kiersten White, you are magnificent.

It’s a reality hide and seek show…. or is it? Because things seem pretty strange from the start. The immediate start with Mack as the narrator gives this whole game a push towards oddness. And, it doesn’t stop there. The 14 contestants gather and begin a strange trip with an enthusiastic host to the middle of nowhere… really anywhere, no one knows. The game begins and you’ll just have to read the book to find out what happens! Trust me, it’s an incredible surprise!

I could not recommend this more to fans of horror!

The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner 🌟ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!!

I really loved this read! Speaking on a large family during the pandemic and after which was so relatable. I think everyone can remember this beginning time. Quickly, the reader learns of Eli’s daughter Ruby’s engagement. However things are not quite so cut and dry. Eli has a big secret that could ruin everything and it’s intense and entertaining to see how this plays out.

This story is character driven and it’s within these characters that the true beauty of this author’s storytelling lies. So unique and vivacious, I felt like I intimately knew some of these people by the end.

I highly recommend this! Out May 10th!

Black Tide by KC Jones 🌟ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

This book is described as sci-fi/horror and if you are in the mood for that then this is the perfect read.

It’s just another day and then it’s the end of the world. This was a great read for me because it gave me exactly what I wanted without any of the confused explanations that are in longer apolypse style stories. I really wanted a fast-paced horror and that’s what I got and I couldn’t ask for more.

This book features a few interesting main characters that drive the story forward and a whole lot of action! Definitely recommend this one!

Seasonal Fears by Seanan McGuire 🌟ARC Review 🌟

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this incredible arc!!!

When I went into reading Middlegame I didn’t know the complete synopsis so I don’t want to really outline the whole sequel here. However, if the first book blew your mind the way it did mine then I can promise that this masterful piece of fiction/literature/fantasy will do the same.

I have said this before, but Seanan McGuire works on one level… genius level. So when I don’t comprehend every specific part of the story, I know it’s my tiny brain that is lacking. Lmao 🀣. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s thought provoking and it will replay itself in your mind for years just like Middlegame. It has the mind blowing intelligence behind each piece along with the compassion and emotion that makes it more than just a smart story. So do yourself a favor, read Middlegame if you haven’t already and then pick up this masterpiece as soon as you can. Kick your shoes off, get comfortable and enjoy.

🌟 Arc Review 🌟 Magpie by Elizabeth Day

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this Arc!

I love a good thriller! And, this was perfect especially because it included so much more than just thrills and chills!

Marisa finally finds somebody that she feels comfortable enough to start a life with. Jake seems like a great guy, however, nothing is exactly how it seems at first. This is something that I quickly understood as the author starts outlining the characters in the beginning of the story.

The happy couple move in together and fairly quickly realize they will need to take on a lodger to help pay the bills. Kate joins the household, a little too comfortably in Marisa’s opinion. When Marisa becomes pregnant the story really takes on some interesting twists.

This wasn’t like the usual thrillers I read because there was such an intense sense of hope bound to this story. Definitely a lot of intriguing pieces to put together and more than what I would typically expect.

Definitely recommend this!
