A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir, A Quick Review

Another fabulous and gut wrenching addition to The Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir. I tried so hard not to cry but there were a few points in the end and I’m telling you, I couldn’t help it! In this book, all the prophecies come true as the main characters fully become the parts they are meant to play, for better or worse. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait for the next book which comes out in December this year and is the final book I believe.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!!

A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir, A Short Review

This is such a great series to get into right now, very powerful and very intriguing. I find that the immersion of magic into the “real world ” scenarios and politics is a pleasant surprise. I didn’t realise how steeped in magic this series was when I began it and I really have come to appreciate it. This book in particular deals with the character Hellene, and the difficulties she faces, the choices she has to make, the thought processes behind those choices and the impact those choices have, particularly right back on her, is so interesting and also, devastating. She is the heart of this book and I cant wait to read more.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, A Review

This book has so much strength to it, and the fact that I was able to get a signed copy has made me literally feel stronger for reasons I cannot totally explain. The main characters are both very loveable, charismatic and only serve to enhance each other’s stories. Laia has everything taken from her and has no idea how to fight back for it, how to have the courage of a lion and show no fear. Elias is fighting in a different way, he is literally a fighter, a mask, and also trying to find his escape to a freedom that doesn’t involve hurting anyone. I highly recommend this first book in the series and thanks for reading my review and happy reading!!
