This really is a must read for fans of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. However, I have talked to plenty of fans over the past few days while reading this hypnotic accumulation of the history of Middle-Earth. There are people who thoroughly enjoy this and there are those who feel like it is completely unreadable. I personally loved it. I feel like it taught me all the information about the races of creatures and history of certain characters so that now I will have a new reverence for the work of Tolkien.
This is pure fantasy for the sake of fantasy. This is the work behind the well-known stories that we all love. Tolkien began these writings around the year 1917 and filled countless journals with this backstory that birthed the famous tales he is known for. I recommend this book for rainy days accompanied with hot cups of tea or cocoa and, obviously, you will need a good blanket and a rotten little cat to curl up on your legs to thoroughly enjoy this. That’s just my suggestion!
This is a compendium of Middle-Earth that needs to be cherished! I highly recommend this!
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!!
